Kindergarten Curriculum

A broad curriculum that gives children confidence.

Huddersfield Grammar School has a personalised approach to teaching and learning, ensuring our children are challenged every day to progress and meet their unique potential.

At Nursery age, our fantastic Kindergarten teachers and support staff promote play-based learning, making education fun and engaging for your children. As they progress through to Reception, more structured timetables are introduced, allowing children to start to build a rounded view of what their education will be like moving forwards into Pre-Preparatory.

My son is absolutely thriving since he started, he loves every day he is there and is making immense progress in his learning. He particularly loves the ballet and swimming sessions and the wonderful outdoor play area. The transition to reception will be very easy for him.

An engaging curriculum for our pupils.

The children benefit from a wide range of experiences through a variety of subjects we teach. In addition, we also encourage learning in topic based interests such as Superheroes, Space, Dinosaurs, Festivals and Celebrations, Transport and People Who Help Us.

To support these enriching experiences, we also welcome visitors to enhance learning. In the past, we have welcomed authors, The Lion Learners, Wonder Dome, and West Yorkshire Classics with their Fire Engine. Trips out have included Little Piglet Farm, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the theatre and local parks and woodland.

We provide structured lessons in:
