Pre-Prep Curriculum

Exceptional teaching methods.

Our teachers deliver an enhanced version of the National Curriculum. Class sizes of no more than 20 ensure that we can monitor the progress of each child in the class.

Reading, Writing and Mathematics have a high priority in the Pre-Preparatory, ensuring a sound foundation in these essential core subjects. Information Technology is integrated into the curriculum from the beginning and all children learn the skills needed to use computers effectively. Great emphasis is also placed on the social development of each individual.

At the beginning of each term, Pre-Preparatory parents are provided with a detailed Curriculum Map that outlines the Programme of Study.

The popular Read Write Inc. Scheme is taught daily and provides a structured and systematic approach to teaching literacy, encouraging children to become fluent readers, confident speakers and willing writers. The children are taught writing and reading skills and are exposed to a wide range of texts, which help to widen their reading experiences.

The White Rose Maths scheme is also taught daily to develop skills in numeracy. The children work in differentiated groups with the Pre-Preparatory team, allowing for the necessary support or challenge. Many different strategies are applied to enable each child to understand concepts.

Our teachers deliver an enhanced version of the National Curriculum with lessons in Art, Craft, Baking, Dance, Music, Science, Geography, History, RE and Computing.

The school takes great care of their pupils. My child is interested in the curriculum and there are excellent extra-curricular offers.
